The first hall of the cave trip got its name from the group of speleologists who, in 1973, first entered this hall through the huge breakdown opposite the entry door, from the Muddy Section. The cavers named several parts of the breakdown: on the highest point a huge ship is sinking in the ice-floes, on the lowest point a polar bear is swimming between the ice-floes. A huge rock, full of peastones, hangs down into the middle of the hall. Seen from the tunnel behind, the rock can remind us of various things: a bunch of grapes, a beehive or the continent of Africa. But maybe it mostly resembles a huge, rough- surface, outstretched tongue, so this is the “Tongue of the mother-in-law “.
